Congratulations to Scarlet Class who earned themselves a job at The Fairtrade Bakery today! As part of their new job, the children had to plan, design and produce Fairtrade banana muffins. Their shift started with some product taste testing of banana loaf and the children created thought bubbles to describe how the product affected their senses. Next, the children sampled different flavourings (chocolate, honey, lemon, nut, raisin and cinnamon) and decided what would complement the flavour of the banana best. After lots of yummy taste testing it was time to plan the product. The children organised the ingredients they needed and how the product would look. Once plans were complete, it was time to bake! They were all fantastic and could write a clear set of instructions for others to use. The final job for the day was to design the packaging to advertise the new Fairtrade product for the bakery. The bosses at the bakery were so impressed, as were the teachers!

I hope you all enjoyed the most important part of the job – enjoying the finished product!

Well done Scarlet Class, I recommend you all to apply for Junior British Bake Off!
