On Monday 22nd February, Year 3 visited Segedunum Roman Fort. When we arrived Mr Storey’s Class took part in a workshop and experienced what life would have been like as a Roman auxiliary living and working on the wall. Orange Class climbed the 35 metre tower and imagined what the landscape would have looked like over 2000 years ago. The views from the top were spectacular! Then they sketched what they could see. After that both groups were able to explore the ruins of the most excavated fort on Hadrian’s Wall and browse around the gallery looking at all of the Roman artefacts.
What an amazing day we had!
