Today 12 members of Year 4 set off to Cardinal Hume School to take part in a Quick Sticks hockey tournament against many other Gateshead schools. The teams were picked following some intense training in PE lessons and we ended up with two highly skilled teams who ready to do their best to win!

On the day of the tournament the weather took a turn to the chilly side and everyone present was freezing cold, but the Fell Dyke teams didn’t let the cold bother them, they played on regardless.

Before the tournment began both teams embarked on their own warm ups – Scarlet team running lengths of the hockey pitch and White class following suit and ending with the Sun Sequence from Yoga!

White class’ team played extremely well as a team and were great as passing to each other, Ryan even managed to score 4 goals in one match leading to a 5-0 victory.

Scarlet class’ team definitely had some power behind their hockey sticks and were able to score in and subsequently win all but one of their matches.

Unfortunately neither team made it to the semi-finals but all children involved should be very proud of their efforts as they came together as a team to do the best they could!

Well done Ryan, Taylor, Kaiser, Jade, Lilly-May, Jessica N, Daniel, Simone, Jake, Macey, Jack and Kyle!
