Bright and early on Saturday, an excited group of families and teachers ventured into the forest for a fun-filled morning.
Working as a team, we were able to:
- Sow seeds for wild flowers;
- Arrange new benches in the fire pit;
- Remove an out of control bramble;
- Sweep out and tidy the storage shed;
- Have a litter collection.
Following all that hard work, we were ready for a break. Miss Barnard lit the camp fire and shared the all-important fire safety rules. Then for our reward – we all toasted marshmallows! They were DELICIOUS!
The morning was complete once each family had planted up their own “family tyre”. These colourful arrangements, which were designed by each family, mark the entrance to the forest.
Thank you so much to all of the families that came along for a lovely morning of outdoor learning. We hope you had as much fun as we did.
If you’d like to get involved in the Forest School at Fell Dyke, please let one of the outdoor learning team know. Miss Barnard, Miss Bewick, Mrs Toner, Mrs Cook and Mrs Reay are all working together to make outdoor learning fabulous at our school.
