To combine art and outdoor learning, Year 6 decided to have a fun forest afternoon and took our creative skills outside!
We created decorations for the forest in the style of the Rio carnival – this linked to our Creative theme, ‘Olympians’. We created spiral sun catchers using recycled plastic bottles and coloured pens: we also used colouful fabric to weave dream catchers using hula hoops and hung them from the trees.
To support our understanding of the ancient Greeks: we created bows and arrows using wood and other natural materials; we made clay pottery and carved wood to make javelins and intricate patterns.
It was a lovely afternoon!
