Year 6 enjoyed a very interesting and informative visit to the SafetyWorks Centre in Newcastle. In groups we rotated around five different ‘real life’ scenarios and learned how to stay safe in these situations. This included: staying safe when using the metro and crossing roads; avoiding hazards that would cause fires and what to do in the event of a fire; avoiding health and safety hazards in the home and how to administer basic first aid and also about the role of a police officer.
Once back at school, we worked in groups to share the important messages we had learned in the form of presentations using Explain Everything. Please feel free to come along to our classrooms and use an iPad to scan our Aurasmas in our Creative Curriculum books to view our presentations.
